With more than 17 years in executive search where he has held key leadership roles for several of the world’s top firms, Kevin recently co-founded RobinsonButler, a boutique executive search firm focused on what they do best - recruiting the top “C” level Life Science talent in America, Europe and Asia. Previously he was the Global Managing Director for Russell Reynold’s Global Healthcare Sector. Earlier roles include: starting the highly successful boutique firm of Heritage Partners (HPI); Managing Partner for Heidrick & Struggles' Global Health Care Practice; and Global Medical Device and Diagnostics Practice leader at Spencer Stuart. Mr. Butler began his search career with Russell Reynolds. Before entering search, he had executive roles with Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, and was a strategic management consultant with Marakon Associates and Dynamics Research Corp.
Kevin has served as a trusted advisor to many clients around the globe including a broad range of pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics and distribution clients. He has successfully helped recruit more than 500 Non-Executive Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers and Vice Presidents in most line and staff functions for clients ranging from major multinationals to venture-backed start-ups.
Early in his career, Kevin was on active duty in the US Army as an Armor, Cavalry and Infantry officer serving around the world. Kevin is on the Board of Visitors at The University of Maryland – Baltimore Campus and he’s served on a number of not-for-profit boards. He and his wife Margie have three wonderful children and they are active supporters of Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center in Westbrook, CT which supports adults with disabilities, where Kevin also serves on the board of directors.
A native of Massachusetts, Kevin is a graduate of The US Military Academy at West Point where he received a B.S. in Engineering. He received an MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
